Dodecyltrimethylammonium Chloride (DTAC) is offered in two specifications. The first specification has an active content of 32–35% and presents as a light yellow liquid. It solidifies at -15℃, has a relative density of 0.981 g/cm³, an HLB value of 17, and an open-cup flash point of 60℃. The second specification contains 49–52% active content and is supplied as a viscous liquid. It has a solidification point between -12℃ and -9℃, a density of 0.892 g/cm³, an HLB value of 17.1, and an open-cup flash point below 27℃. A 10% aqueous solution of this grade exhibits a surface tension of 33×10⁻³ N/cm. Both variants are fully miscible with water and demonstrate high chemical stability. They offer strong resistance to heat, light, strong acids, and alkalis. Additionally, they provide excellent permeability, emulsification, antistatic, and bactericidal properties.
