Product Details

Magnesium sulfate anhydrous , commonly known as Epsom salt, bitter salt, or sulfur bitter, is a magnesium-containing compound. It usually occurs as colorless or white hygroscopic crystals or a white powdered form. The material is odorless and features a characteristic bitter-salty taste, exhibiting deliquescent behavior.

Magnesium sulfate anhydrous

In its heptahydrate form, magnesium sulfate loses six water molecules at 150 °C and becomes fully anhydrous at 200 °C. The anhydrous variant has a density of 2.66, melts at 1124 °C, and decomposes at this temperature. It shows high solubility in water, moderate solubility in alcohol, ether, and glycerol, and is insoluble in acetone.
