Poly(vinyl alcohol)

Eco-Friendly Water Solubility: PVA dissolves readily in hot water and is fully biodegradable, serving as a sustainable alternative to conventional plastics in packaging films, agricultural mulch films, and dissolvable laundry bagseffectively minimizing microplastic pollution.

Superior Film-Forming & Adhesion: Its high density of hydroxyl groups facilitates extensive hydrogen bonding, resulting in strong, oxygen-resistant films ideal for food packaging and reliable adhesive performance in paper and textile manufacturing.

Biocompatibility & Low Toxicity: With a high LD₅₀ (20,000 mg/kg) and classification as non-carcinogenic (IARC Group 3), PVA is safely used in pharmaceuticals, contact lenses, and wound care materials.

Scalable Industrial Processing: Supplied as a bulk powder with a 1 FCL minimum order quantity, PVA offers tunable solubility through molecular weight variation, supporting cost-efficient production via extrusion or solution casting for diverse industrial applications.

Product Details

Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) is a solid typically supplied as a white powder, flakes, or flocculent particles, with a glass transition temperature ranging from 60 to 85 °C. Its high hydroxyl content and polar nature allow PVA to form hydrogen bonds with water, rendering it soluble in aqueous solutions. It also dissolves in hot hydroxyl-group-containing solvents such as glycerol and phenol, while remaining insoluble in common organic solvents including methanol, benzene, acetone, and gasoline.
