Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) CAS#9002-89-5
High Solubility & Adhesion
Polyvinyl Alcohol features excellent water solubility, soluble in hot water and partially soluble in cold water. Insoluble in most organic solvents. It owns outstanding film-forming property, strong adhesion and good surface activity, compatible well with starch and various water-based raw materials.
Stable Performance
It has stable chemical property at normal temperature, excellent oil resistance, solvent resistance and weather resistance. The formed film shows high tensile strength, good flexibility and low temperature resistance, not easy to deteriorate during long-term sealed storage.
Versatile Uses
Widely used as adhesive, film-forming agent, thickener and emulsifier. Applied in textile sizing, papermaking coating, water-based glue, building mortar additives, chemical fiber, packaging film and daily chemical industries.
Granular & Flaky Form
It appears as white flaky or granular solid, odorless and non-toxic. Hygroscopic in humid environment, should be stored sealed in dry and ventilated place, kept away from high temperature and strong oxidants.
Polyvinyl Alcohol, molecular formula \((C_2H_4O)_n\), is a white odorless polymer solid with flaky or granular form. It is soluble in hot water, insoluble in organic solvents, and possesses excellent adhesion, film-forming, emulsifying and thickening performance. With stable chemical property and biodegradability, it is an indispensable water-soluble raw material for chemical, building, textile and papermaking industries.
